Desmond West
A boutique, Bronx-headquartered IT partner putting people first: unlimited support at a flat rate for nonprofits, small businesses, startups, and solo professionals.
The Spark
Desmond has worked in technology since 2007, getting his start making house calls for everyday home users across Manhattan. That hands-on, people-first approach never left him. Raised in Brooklyn and rooted in the Bronx for more than fifteen years, he kept watching small organizations get left to figure technology out on their own, or priced as if they were enterprises.
He built pinStripe IT so they would get real support instead of a runaround. Even the name is a Bronx statement: it comes from the Yankees' pinstripes. "I want people to respect the Bronx."
“I want people to respect the Bronx.”
The Service
pinStripe IT provides managed IT services with a high-touch, boutique experience. Desmond's model is simple but powerful: every client gets everything. Instead of confusing tiers and surprise fees, he offers unlimited support for a flat, predictable retainer, from day-to-day help desk needs to full-scale projects. For nonprofits he goes further, unlocking technology grants and donated software many organizations never knew they qualified for.
Forged in Challenge
Desmond is candid about his primary challenge: while an expert in his technical field, he's navigating the complexities of business operations for the first time. Rather than seeing this as a weakness, he's turned it into his growth strategy. The key to scaling his unique, high-touch culture is to create a replicable playbook, documenting every system and process so the company's values stay intact as the team grows.
The Vision Ahead
Desmond measures success in longevity, not exit value. His vision is a lasting Bronx institution: a trained bench of human-centered technicians serving the community, a first on-call hire by year's end, and a meticulously documented playbook that keeps the empathetic, full-service culture intact as the team expands. Growth built on trust.
